Connect Up With Juliet

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview resume writer Juliet Fornari about ten random facts about herself, what inspired her to become a resume writer . Plus what the coolest thing he is currently working on. Check out my interview with Juliet below:

Loryn: What is the best piece of advice you've received?

Juliet: Never stop learning. It’s easy to go through the motions, but we never advance in life/our career/anything unless we continually analyze, research, and implement new ideas.

Loryn: What inspired you to become a resume writer?

Juliet: I’ve always enjoyed writing and knew that I wanted to pursue a career based in it. Prior to starting my business, I worked a bit with resumes and learned a lot about the job search through family and knew that was what I’d do!

Loryn: What is the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?

Juliet: The biggest risk I’ve ever taken was selling all of my belongings and becoming a digital nomad! Since my entire business is based online, all I need is my laptop and access to the internet. So I ended my apartment rental and started traveling the US and pets of Europe for a year!

Loryn: What is one thing you can’t live without?

Juliet: Definitely my laptop. So much valuable job search and business info is on there. Not to say I couldn’t reproduce it, but let’s hope I never have to haha! (Chocolate and coffee are close runner-ups)

Loryn: What is the MUST SEE YouTube video or podcast to listen to?

Juliet: Anything on Crash Course! If there’s anything you want to learn more about, Crash Course is such a great resource of info - especially if you’re a novice in the subject.

Loryn: What fad or trend do you hope comes back?

Juliet: I never pay much attention to fads or trends and just do whatever I feel like at any particular time. It’s always better to focus on what makes you comfortable rather than what society tells us is “in.”

Loryn: What are you currently working on?

Juliet:I’m currently expanding my business and exploring new opportunities and avenues for job search advancements!

Loryn: Who is your favorite LinkedIn connection to learn from?

Juliet :I always enjoy reading Adam Karpiak’s posts! He doesn’t sugar coat things and he lays out cold, hard facts whether people like it or not. Plus he provides great tips for job seekers which always gives you points in my book.

Loryn: If you could change the whole HR industry, how would you do it?

Juliet: I would definitely want to make it more people centric. It seems to be so much about guidelines and requirements, but I think it should focus more on figuring out how to help and support the team toward success. That would solve a lot of problems in and of itself.

Loryn: What something not many people know about you?

Juliet :I used to be (and look) very straight edge. Of course now I have piercings, tattoos, and blue hair - some people don’t like it, but I think it shows my confidence. Not everyone will like me regardless of how I look or what I do, so I might as well do what makes me happy and forget the “haters.”
