Learn How To Find Your Community Through Music with Amber Dunn

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Amber Dunn to learn five random facts about herself . Check out my interview with Amber below:

Loryn: If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?

Amber: Honestly, it is a lot of fun being a musician. I feel like I never really "work" a day in my life, although I literally work just about every second of every day to be relevant, competitive, and make a few dollars. Really, it's just a lifestyle, and you have to understand that. Once you have, you'll enjoy almost every aspect except, and this is where I'll allow myself to be a little honest, the "pretenders," as I call it. The ones who haven't made it their lifestyle and get bitter or jaded into thinking someone has something they don't, or they got shafted. I mean, there are people like that in all industries, ours just happens to be highly competitive but I wish these kinds of people could find strength in building their peers and community up rather than feeling like the whole world is against them.  I've met a few of these in my career and always been kind but kept my distance. I try to believe everyone has a good heart deep inside, but sometimes they just forget ;)

Loryn: How would you describe your music in one word?

Amber: Authentic

Loryn: What concert would you love to go to in the future?

Amber: If it's just "go to," I'd have to say Dolly. I've Seen Willie Nelson, and she's one of the last remaining icons from what I call the golden era of country music and my personal favorite time, the 50s and 60's

Loryn: What projects are you looking forward to accomplishing this year?

Amber: TOURING!!!!!!! This has been on the agenda for quite some time, but bands are hard to come by; well, bands that can all travel and have a good booking agent have a lot to do with it. Right now, I do all my bookings.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Amber: I love turtles, snakes, frogs, bugs... I grew up in an area in the East Arkansas Delta where if you wanted to find something to play with you had to find water THEN you would find life. Also, fishing is one of my favorite pastimes!
