I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Anne Therese to learn five random facts about herself and what inspired her to become an actress. Check out my interview with Anne below:
Loryn: What inspired you to become an actress?
Anne: When I was about 3 years old, my family was watching Baywatch on TV. And I saw an actor on there that I thought was so interesting because I’ve never really seen someone who looked like, the actors on the show, before. I thought the interactions of the characters were so cool and they were so important. That was when I told my aunt that I would one day go to America and be an actress so I can meet that actor and become a part of their world.
Loryn: Who is an actor or actress you'd love to work with in the future?
Anne: I am a huge Angelina Jolie fan, and ironically I love Jennifer Aniston also. But I would love to work with Jennifer Lopez as well. My all-time dream would be to work opposite Jon Jon Briones or Dante Basco. Because I think they’re just amazing actors and they paved the way for a lot of Filipino actors in Hollywood and continue to till today. I want to learn from them from their experiences in the industry. I want to know what I can do to help navigate that trajectory further and extend those experiences with other fellows Filipinas/ Filipinos wanting to be a part of the industry. Because everyone is talented, but not everyone has an opportunity.
Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you?
Anne: I have learned above all things in the industry that, interestingly enough, you have to know yourself. This industry isn’t for everyone and that's how it should be. The industry influences so much of our culture, if not all of it, that I feel it should be those who are willing to be aware of that and use that with good intentions with light and love in their heart. For a lack of a better word the industry is tough, and I think you have to know who you are before you go into it or you’ll lose yourself in it.
Loryn: How has the pandemic changed you?
Anne: The pandemic, I think like everyone else, has made me a bit of a recluse, but I’ve been able to achieve so much more. Haha Just even in my daily routine. I was definitely one of those people that bought all the plants and (tried) to make all the sourdough. (And failed) I am definitely more focused than I was before with the distractions the great city of Los Angeles offers. Also, I am more confident because I have witnessed myself, capable of the things I have sought out for so long, and achieved.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Anne: Everyone always says I’m pretty predictable, but I think what is surprising is that I truly want to become a lawyer to help people in whatever capacity that may evolve to be.
