Learn How To Have Faith with Colby Rummell

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Colby Rummell to learn five random facts about himself and what projects he has in store for 2022. Check out my interview with Colby below:

Loryn: When you have a five-minute break during rehearsal, what do you spend that time doing?

Colby: When I have a break in rehearsal, I honestly love to hang out and get to know the other actors and crew members. A lot of times, we often take for granted that one of the best things in the world is interacting with other people. These past few years have taught me never to take the opportunities to spend time with people for granted. There are so many people in the world who need a friend, so during my five-minute breaks (or however long the break turns out to be), I really do love to spend my time getting to know the wonderful people around me.

Loryn: Who is an actor or actress you'd love to work with in the future?

Colby: There are so many incredible artists that come to my mind when I get asked this question, but Zachary Levi comes to the very top of my mind. I think he is not only one of the best actors out there, but he seems like an incredibly kind human being who wants to make the world a better place. Also, I know he found his love for acting in theater, and from that, he decided to chase his dreams. I relate to him in that way. Since then, he has had a career that allows him to do TV, Film, Theatre, Musical Theatre, and VoiceOver. He has the type of career that I strive for, and I feel like he would be the perfect person for me to watch and learn from.

Loryn: What projects are in store for 2022?

Colby: One of the beautiful things about acting is the unknown. Currently, I am auditioning consistently for really cool VO projects. I am blessed with the incredible team of Voice Over Agents at Atlas Talent Agency. Last year, I was able to do some cool VO Projects. For example, a Podcast called R. L. Stine's Story Club with an incredible company called Go Kids Go. They provide Family Friendly Podcast options that are suitable for all ages. I also got to record a national commercial for Geico and Dawn Platinum Dish Soap. So, who knows, maybe 2022 will allow me more fun voice-over projects. I am also hopeful that I will do more stage productions and on-camera projects. In 2022, I will also be releasing a web series called "Bad Therapists" that I created with some of my friends and family last year. I had the honor of writing 5 of the episodes, so I am excited to share that with the world very soon!

Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you?

Colby: One of the best lessons that the industry has taught me is to be patient, have faith, and enjoy the journey. The world is full of anxiousness, rejection, and nervousness. The journey of acting is no different. I have the best parents, the best family, the best girlfriend, and the best friends who help me enjoy the journey. When I feel low, they pick me right back up with their positivity and encouragement. So, I guess the industry has taught me to find the people who help you enjoy the journey. They make it all worth it.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Colby: Something that people may be surprised to know about me is this story. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a business degree. After college, I had a great job as a Recruiting Manager at a Recruiting firm. One day, while I was working, I got an email from a friend named Eric DePriester, who asked me if I would like to play Kyle Wilson in his Feature, called "Treason." I had had the privilege of playing the role in the play version of "Treason" as well, so to work with the fantastic cast and crew again was a no-brainer. But this meant I had to choose to quit my job and give everything I could to chase this dream. I must say, it was an easier decision than I thought it would be. This was a pretty big move, but I haven't regretted that choice one bit. I love acting, and God willing, I will get to do it for the rest of my life!
