Loryn: What message do you hope fans get from your music?
Brooke: First and foremost, I just want the music to have an impact on their lives, whether it’s small or big. My dream is for someone who is about to go out with their friends and have fun to want to play Consequences, for example. I would love for the lyrics and music to resonate with people’s lives and emotions.
Loryn: If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be and why?
Brooke: It would have to be Taylor Swift because she’s the first artist whose music I fell in love with. She is a huge inspiration to me.
Loryn: Thus far, what's a favorite memory or something quirky and/or fun that's taken place in your career (in-studio, onstage, or elsewhere)?
Brooke: There’s been a lot of fun moments so far! Being in the studio singing and watching a song come to life is the most exciting. A specific moment that stands out to me though is when my sister — who writes all of my music with me — called me one day to tell me that my song “fallin for you” had been added to a Spotify editorial playlist. It was a moment I loved and will never forget.
Loryn: What is the story behind your song "Consequences"?
Brooke: “Consequences” is a song about intentionally making stupid decisions because they feel good in the moment. It’s describing a romantic situation that might end messy, but you decide to think less, worry later, and just have fun.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Brooke: People would be most surprised to learn that I’m also in law school as well as becoming an artist. It’s kind of like living a double life, where I do all the things law students do, like study, go to class and intern. But I also do things artists do, like write, record, and make content.
