Learn How Ross Builds A Community

Updated: Dec 22, 2020

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Ross Clark about five random facts about himself, what inspired him to start his own company. Plus what's lesson he's learned from failure . Check out my interview with Ross below:

Loryn: What inspired you to start your own company?

Ross: Entrepreneurship has always been apart of me, starting back at the age of 7 or so, I would go around and pick up those souvenir plastic cups at high school games, wash them and then resell them. This occurred in many different ways during my youth, I was just missing the life experience to have it come to fruition on a larger scale until more recently. With my latest startup (my 2nd), I was inspired by the opportunity I saw in the community after a visit from my wife and I. Once I noticed this, it was hard not to attempt to create a solution for the obvious problem: a media marketing company focused on digital solutions for an area stuck in the 90’s.

Loryn: What marketing strategy do you believe should be taken during this particular time?

Ross: Community over competition and people over profits. I think the best marketing strategy at this time is to present solutions to the obvious problems with transparency and not try to take advantage, but use the time wisely to revise and grow!

Loryn: What's a lesson you've learned from your failures?

Ross: Failures ARE apart of it. If you don’t face failure, you aren’t pushing hard enough.

Loryn: What are you currently working on?

Ross: Currently, I’m working on tourism marketing for Big Bear Lake, CA via HoneyShare Media. We’ve created an animated town mascot (Scooter the Bear) which along with creative marketing, content and strategic solutions, these are just a portion of what we have planned in the area. Check him (and us) out Insta: @honeysharemedia

Loryn: What is something not every many people know about you?

Ross: That at the age of 10, a fortune teller told me I would be some kind of writer when I grew up. After being upset she didn’t tell me I’d be a professional athlete, I did my best to avoid it and prove her wrong. Fast forward to now: I enjoy writing and find myself doing more and more of it as the creative director for HSM.
