I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Ike Marv about five random facts about himself, his predictions on the furniture industry. Plus what inspired him to furnish schools. Check out my interview with Ike below:
Loryn: How has your furniture business pivot since COVID-19?
Ike: We have started incorporating social distancing into planning for our customers design and layouts. Even clients who’ve always wanted to have a collaborative learning/working experience need to have some type of safe distancing when returning to school/work.
Loryn: What is your predictions on the furniture industry?
Ike: I believe that people will return back to normal collaborative workspace within 6-9 months.
Loryn: What inspired you to furnish schools?
Ike: The job opportunity came to me, and I thought about how I never liked my school furniture as a child, and would love to help design that dream classroom environment.
Loryn: What are you currently working on?
Ike: I’m working on 6 new school projects including the first charter school In Montgomery, AL! I am also redesigning dozens of classrooms and labs.
Loryn: What is something not many know about you?
Ike: My initial career plan was to go to law school, as my dad and many of my dads family members are lawyers. This career path definitely wasn’t planned but I love it!
