Life On Rebound with Tyra Madison

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Tyra Madison to learn five random facts about herself and the story behind her single " Rebound". Check out my interview with Tyra below:

Loryn: Which musical era or decade do you feel most connected to?

Tyra: I feel like growing up listening to so many different genres has shaped my sound as an artist. I would say the decade I feel most connected to would be the 80s, especially rock. That is all my mom had playing on the radio when I was younger, and it is where my county/rock sound is rooted from.

Loryn: What venue would you love to perform at and why?

Tyra: The Grand Ole Opry. I want to play in that circle like the greats before me. To me, The Grand Ole Opry IS country music.

Loryn: What is the story behind your song, "Rebound"?

Tyra: I am a born and raised Kentucky girl. Basketball is a popular sport there and I had written down “Rebound” as a song idea because I wanted to connect rebounding a relationship and rebounding a basketball. My co-writer, Jeff Cohen, helped me do just that. It’s also a plus that one of my exes played basketball so it’s a win-win for me. It was such a fun song to write.

Loryn: Can you share any upcoming projects, tours, or collaborations that you’re particularly excited about?

Tyra: I am releasing a new single sometime in October/November. I haven’t really announced it yet so I won’t say the title, but I’m super excited for my audience to hear this new dark, small-town tune written by Brett James, Will Bunny, and Laura Veltz.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Tyra: I used to be an Elsa impersonator. I did over 500 kids' birthday parties and multiple public appearances. I also was a Hannah Montana impersonator when I was younger and would go to local schools to sing. They thought I was the real thing!
