Learn To Always Live In The Moment with Matthieu JeanPierre

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Matthieu Jean-Pierre to learn five random facts about himself and what inspired him to become a part of the Netflix Series "Cielo Grande". Check out my interview with Matthieu below:

Loryn: Who is an actor or actress you'd love to work with in the future?

Matthieu: I would love to work alongside Samuel L Jackson. He's one of my favorite actors to study and watch. I feel that he has been true to every character he's played, yet they were all so different. He also does animation voice-overs and I have a huge interest in voice overs. It probably has to do with the fact that I write music. Whenever I write lyrics, I say “it has to paint a vivid picture.” To me, voice-over is the literal embodiment of that. Samuel L Jackson is honestly unmatchable.

Loryn: Do you have any music coming out this year?

Matthieu: Yes, I am about to release a freestyle mini-series with videos on my Instagram. My freshman collab album, with Kreeps Da Zoe, was nothing short of my expectations. Being able to work with DMV artist, La Saint, on the project fueled a lot more features with the both of us that I can't wait to share. One of the biggest highlights for me was getting to work with Multi-Platinum Award Winning Audio Engineer, Irko. The guy is truly a genius. He's currently nominated for another Grammy for his engineering work on Kanye West's album, Donda. I am currently also writing my sophomore album and can't imagine anywhere else to create it but at Irko's new studio. Please look out for that.

Loryn: What inspired you to become a part of the Netflix Series "Cielo Grande"?

Matthieu: The entire Horseless Cowboy and Igloo Music Dubbing team is a pleasure to work with. I love the projects they record, and I try my best to continue to work with them. After dubbing season 1 of "GO! Live Your Way", I knew dubbing was something I wanted to continue doing. The entire experience made me feel closer to my goal of animation. When they approached me with the dubbing role for "Tony" on Cielo Grande/Secrets of Summer, I was stoked. I'm hopeful for another season.

Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you?

Matthieu: Always live in the current moment. What already happened, can't be changed, so don't let it change your current state of being. That's a huge nugget in not losing one’s joy for life and staying upbeat.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Matthieu: I am a real-life chef, LOL. I know how to cook an extensive number of different cuisines and I enjoy doing that for my family and friends. To know me is to know food!
