Learn How To Stay True Yourself with Matteson Gregory

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Matteson Gregory to learn five random facts about herself and the story behind her song Marry Me Someday. Check out my interview with Matteson below:

Loryn: What is the story behind your song Marry Me Someday?

Matteson: For the past year and a half love was something that was a big presence and feeling in my life and marry me someday was a phrase I kept saying. To me, knowing you are going to spend your life with someone doesn't mean you have to make it official at that very moment. You just know that you don't need to make it official because in some ways it already feels like that. I think really just knowing you are committed to someone and they are just as equally committed to you really inspired this song.

Loryn: Who is a singer you'd love to collaborate with in the future?

Matteson: Hands down Taylor Swift. I grew up listening to her music. I've always admired how she is never afraid to write how she feels and step outside of the box. It would be so awesome to be able to drink coffee and write songs with her!

Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you?

Matteson: I think the biggest lesson is learning to stay true to yourself. I've learned that in order to be truly happy in this business is best to stay true to who you are as an artist. In this business lots of people will tell you what they think you should be. You just have to fight for your voice!

Loryn: What new projects do you have in store for 2022?

Matteson: As of right now I am planning on releasing more music. I've been writing like crazy over the past few months and there are so many songs I want to share with my fans. I also plan on playing more gigs and doing a few full band shows. All in all, I am so ready for 2022.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Matteson: The first things that comes to my mind is that I dip my Wendy's chicken nuggets in my Frosty and I can wiggle my ears.
