Learn How To Stay Motivated with Zaeny

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Zeany to learn five random facts about himself and the story behind his single "So Fine" Check out my interview with Zeany below:

Loryn: What other projects do you have in store for 2022?

Zeany: First off, I’m planning on making a lyric video for my single “So Fine” which I released on February 1st. I am also in the midst of producing a few songs (singles), hopefully releasing the next one in the next couple of months, so everyone should stay tuned for that. I’m going to come out with a new music video for the next song too, along with a lyric video. I want to grow and interact with my audience as much as possible so I’ll be thinking of ways to do that, I’ll also be live streaming as well. The final project I have in store for 2022 is starting to design my own clothing/merch. It's been another passion of mine and I hope to promote my music through it as well. It’s definitely going to be one of the busiest years I’ll have so far.

Loryn: Who is a musician you'd like to work with in the future?

Zeany: Alessia Cara for sure. I’ve always been a fan of her music, she is so talented and creative. It would be so cool to collaborate with someone who literally lives 15 minutes away from me; I’m from Mississauga, Ontario and she is from Brampton, Ontario. She gave me a lot of hope because she lives so close to me, grew up in a similar environment as me and she’s made it. Watching her journey from when I was younger and seeing how big she’s become, kind of reminds me what I’m doing. I’m starting off similar to how she is, so I can relate to her. It would be super cool to have a conversation and be friends with her, even make a song with her.

Loryn: What is the story behind your single "So Fine'?

Zeany: This project has been a year in the making. The song is called “So Fine”. I wrote it one day after having a thought go through my head at 3 am. I immediately got up and started writing. I wrote the song about being with that one person that makes you feel “So Fine”. Whether it’s walking with them, talking to them, thinking about them, hearing their voice, anything… You just feel so calm and at peace.

Loryn: What lesson have you learned from creating your own music?

Zeany: The lessons I’ve learned about being a musician is that I have to build a team, having connections and staying motivated is super important. Luckily, I have a friend who’s been in the industry for a long time now and he’s been helping me with everything; I’m so thankful for him. No matter where you go, you will always have haters; even the biggest people in the industry have many haters. It can really de-motivate you. But for me, I look at artists' journeys and what they did to get where they are. I know I have to pull it together and keep going. Just know what you have, what your passion is and nothing can stop you from pursuing that; make sure you work hard.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Zeany: I have a lot of trouble focusing and I have anxiety disorder. Sometimes, I’ll think of a melody in my head and forget it 15 seconds later, then I’ll have a lot of anxiety about it because I can’t remember it. Not a good combination to be honest. But even though I have these features, I never look at the bad side of things. I always think of it as a positive. Who knows, maybe it contributes to my creativity!
