I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Amy Jack to learn five random facts about herself and what she misses about live performance. Check out my interview with Amy below:
Loryn: What lesson has the music industry taught you?
Amy: I think one of the biggest things the industry has taught me is how to overcome challenges and use that to help you evolve as a person. Even if you could have had a much easier path and livelihood, it’s important to do what you feel called to do and what you’re passionate about. The songwriters and musicians I work with are some of the most wonderful and caring people, which makes their art truly exceptional.
Loryn: What hobbies did you resume during the pandemic?
Amy: I had so much more time to focus on reading and educating myself about wellness and things like that. I also got better about checking in on my friends and loved ones. Connecting with those that I care about was really important to me.
Loryn: What do you miss about live performance?
Amy: I really miss being able to interact with people and get to know them face-to-face instead of via a screen. Being able to forge that connection in-person is such a special thing.
Loryn: What's a song you currently have on repeat?
Amy: That would be our new Christmas song that I wrote with Dennis Morgan. I’ve been playing it on repeat the past few weeks just trying to make sure I’ve got it perfect and ready to go for the upcoming holiday season!
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Amy: I really love nature and being outdoors. There are so many lessons to be learned in nature for life and dealing with people. It’s such a peaceful place to be.
