Learn How To Not Take The Small Things For Granted With Garrett Thierry

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Garrett Thierry to learn five random facts about himself, and what inspired him to be an actor. Check out my interview with Garrett below:

Loryn: What inspired you to become an actor?

Garrett: To be honest, internally, I've always had a strong will to perform and develop myself. In high school, I was the captain of the Gabriel Richard baseball team that won the State Championship and as the pitcher, I recorded 112 strikeouts, a sub 1.00 era, and an 11-1 record. Also, growing up, I had an eccentric uncle, Sebsatian Twardosz, that believed moving to Los Angeles and following in the footsteps of legends like George Lucas and Steven Spielberg was the game plan, so I followed suit, frequently visiting Los Angeles and learning more about the entertainment business. Finally, Keanu Reeves starred in The Matrix, which was a total paradigm shift in my young life that altered my perception on what I could accomplish with my life.

Loryn: What actor or actress would you love to collaborate with in the future?

Garrett: Wow, this is a great question, because there are so many that have inspired me throughout the years, but a few that come to mind off the bat would be Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Dwayne Johnson, Keith David, . Now for actresses, I would definitely have to say being cast alongside legends like Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, or Julia Roberts would be incredible. I am also inspired by the choices of Emma Stone, Emma Watson, Charlize Theron, and Margot Robbie and know with the right story and screenplay we could create something special. Also, after viewing Anya Taylor-Joy in Queens Gambit, I would definitely throw her into the mix. To be honest there are so many strong beautiful and talented female leads, I feel going to a closed audition or screen testing for on screen chemistry would be fun. Casting is like a rubix cube or jigsaw puzzle and when two actors clique on screen, the audience is enthralled and to me finding that chemistry on screen is key.

Loryn: What lesson did the pandemic teach you?

Garrett: Do not take small things for granted and be grateful for each moment of life. In adversity, no matter what happens, keep discipline and focus on goals, as well as the importance of having strong friends and family in your corner. Even though most people had no access to gyms, keeping the discipline and creating at home fitness routines to stay driven and motivated was key for me.

Loryn: How do you prepare for your auditions?

Garrett: I often like to digest and understand my character's role in a screenplay and after meditating upon the entire arc, placing myself within each area of the story becomes more vivid and real. Also, I often bring friends and family into the conversation to help me vocalize and bring the role to life to further refine and develop my understanding of the character.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Garrett: I once camera tested to wear the batsuit with Ben Affleck on Zac Snyders Batman Versus Superman: Dawn of Justice, but I have another strange talent that I do not discuss often, but I bowled my first 300-game at 14 years old and bowled competitively well into my 20's.
