Learn How To Never Give Up with Victoria Rooney
I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Victoria Rooney to learn five random facts about herself and what lesson has the entertainment industry taught her. Check out my interview with Victoria below:
Loryn: What is a goal you hope to accomplish before the end of the year?
Victoria: Although I have met many of my goals this year, a continuous goal of mine is to take as many classes/workshops as I can and network with as many industry professionals as possible. I love learning and I am constantly taking in new experiences and using them towards growth in all aspects of my life, especially in my professional performing career. I am never complacent, as I feel it can never hurt to learn even more about my passions. There is always room to explore and do the impossible!
Loryn: What song do you currently have on repeat?
Victoria: I am a Dancer and Singer, so music is a big part of my life! One of my favorite songs that I have on repeat is “Classic” by MKTO because it is very upbeat and fun.
Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you?
Victoria: Having started in the entertainment industry at the tender age of nine, I have learned many lessons of rejection, resilience, and never giving up. Rejection is a part of the industry and sometimes you will receive more “no’s” than “yeses.” Therefore, it is always important to bounce back and keep moving ahead. If you stay positive eventually your time will come, and the right people/team will come into your life. If you truly love what you do and have a passion for it, then you should never give up on it. This is a message I live by and hope to inspire others to do the same.
Loryn: How has the pandemic changed you?
Victoria: The pandemic was a learning experience, as it strengthened my adaptability skills. I already knew I could adapt and rise to challenges, but this was put to the test when, like many college students, I had to shift my college experience and way of learning online to “Zoom University” within 24 hours. Also, like many actors, I became my own videographer, editor, lighting director, etc., overnight, as the entertainment industry fully shifted to self-taping. Although these were challenges, I was able to strengthen my self-taping skills and my versatility even more. I am confident that whatever challenge is thrown my way I can conquer it. Additionally, I have always been aware that time spent with my loved ones is precious and I believe the pandemic has solidified this even more.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Victoria: Something people are surprised to learn about me is that outside of my professional career as an Actress, Singer, and Dancer, I maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while in college and pursuing a professional career simultaneously.
