Learn How To Live Life As An Old Country Song with Macartney Reinhardt

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Macartney Reinhardt to learn five random facts about herself and what's the story behind her new single "Old Country Song. Check out my interview with Macartney below:

Loryn: How would you describe your music in one sentence to your fans?

Macartney: I would say that my music is a mix of pop-country and traditional country with a touch of blues....with a southern drawl.

Loryn: Who is a musician you'd love to collaborate with in the future?

Macartney: I would absolutely one day love to do a collab with Morgan Wade. I love her organic style and am totally blown away by her raw, heartfelt lyrics.

Loryn: What's the story behind your new single "Old Country Song "?

Macartney: This song is about how a lot of country songs normally end in divorce, cheating, and breakups. I was in a relationship at the time I wrote this, and I thought about how this situation was like the same stories that play out time after time in some of my favorite old country songs. That things were amazing in the beginning and then everything ultimately falls apart. I had only hoped this relationship wouldn’t end like an “Old Country Song” but it eventually did.

Loryn: How has the pandemic changed you?

Macartney: I feel like the pandemic has changed me as a writer and musician for the better. During that time, I was able to focus more on writing and it gave me more time to reflect on what was going on in the world and how fragile life can really be.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Macartney: I think people would be surprised to know that I was born with a rare lung birth defect and doctors didn’t know if I would be able to breathe at birth. I defied the odds though and started singing as a toddler!!
