Learn How To Live Each Day As Your Last with Michael Pellegrino

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Michael Pellegrino to learn five random facts about himself and what inspired him to launch The Authors World. Check out my interview with Michael below:

Loryn: What inspired you to launch The Authors World?

Michael: I was inspired to create The Authors World.com and The Authors World Podcast.com because I felt that there was a massive void in the literary industry. People love to read, but the landscape of how we read has changed dramatically. We now live in a world where technology has changed the way people read. The old days of going to your local bookstore and buying a book, sitting down, and ordering a cup of coffee while you read are gone. Call me old-fashioned, but that was an enjoyable time for me and so many others. The days of buying a book and waiting in line to get your book autographed by the author are pretty much gone as well. Don’t get me wrong, technology has helped make it much easier for the readers to obtain a book, but in the process of making it easier to buy a book and have it delivered to your doorstep or being able to just download it in a matter of seconds, we lost a very important part of the literary world. We lost the human factor that books brought to us. Remember when you were sitting somewhere reading your book and drinking your coffee, and someone would come up and say, oh, I just love that book, or they would say I have been wanting to read that book so bad. Before you knew it, you were having a discussion about the book and other books, you were having a conversation. So when I started to develop the idea for The Authors World, I wanted to build a social media site that would bring back the concept of people who love books to be able to communicate with each other and discuss books and to have the opportunity to talk with each other about their likes and dislikes of books. I also wanted authors to have the opportunity to communicate with the readers and for the readers to have a chance to connect with their favorite authors. My ultimate goal is to bring readers, authors, publishers, and anyone who loves books together with today’s technology infused with the human factor.

Loryn: What is one book you highly recommend everyone read?

Micheal: The book I would suggest that everyone should read is Soul Sword The Way and Mind of a Zen Warrior. This is a book that should be read by all walks of life. Whether you are a business person, a mother, father it doesn’t matter who or what you do- it's a must-read.

Loryn: What lesson did the pandemic teach you?

Micheal: The pandemic has personally taught me to realize not to take life for granted. I have lost some great friends during this crazy time in life and I have personally suffered from a serious case of Covid and it's no joke! Live life as each day is your last.

Loryn: What is one thing you would change about the entertainment industry?

Micheal: The one thing that I would change in our industry is diversification. The entertainment industry has made some great progress but ultimately we are still in need of some serious change. The entertainment industry needs a solid and level playing field so everyone can have an equal opportunity to succeed in this wonderful industry.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Micheal: Two things that no one really knows about me is that I am a certified firefighter. I was certified in 1998 and had the opportunity of fighting multiple forest fires in California and in the state of Nevada. I was really happy that I had the chance to do this, it has given me a true respect for first responders. The second thing is I am a licensed helicopter pilot. I now hope to add to my resume that I am the creator of The Authors World.com that changed the literary industry.
