I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Gabrielle Metz to learn five random facts about herself and the story behind her song "Masks". Check out my interview with Gabrielle below:
Loryn: What is your favorite part of performing?
Gabrielle: I love when I'm playing and can in real time see someone in the audience connect with a song!
Loryn: If you could collab on a song with any artist, who would it be and why?
Gabrielle: There are several but I really love Ingrid Andress and think it would be amazing to collab with her. Be it in songwriting or singing a song together!
Loryn: What is the story behind your song "Masks"?
Gabrielle: I had the title for a few months before I really decided how I wanted to write it. I was analyzing myself and how I interact with people, specifically how hard I find it to let someone in when it comes to dating, but as the song developed it really became a song that encompasses how hard it is to find people to be yourself with. That can be in any sense. I really feel like this social media era we are living in has made it much harder to be real and authentic with people and that makes it difficult to have deep meaningful connections and relationships.
Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you so far?
Gabrielle: Discipline more than anything else! Discipline in practice, songwriting, performing, and even networking!
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Gabrielle: I really love sports and running. I run a 1/2 marathon every spring!
