I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Kamaya Tarpley to learn five random facts about herself and what projects she has scheduled for the second half of the year. Check out my interview with Kamaya Tarpley below:
Loryn: What projects do you have scheduled for the second half of the year?
Kamaya: I am currently working on my 13th novel - a romantic horror called Lilith which I am hoping to publish in July or August! I’m currently in the process of signing up for more comic cons that occur in the fall and knowing the way my wacky brain is wired, I might start the next book!
Loryn: What message do you hope new readers take away from your books?
Kamaya: All of my books have different messages but I like to feature the underdog or an underrepresented community within them. With my novels having that in common, I generally hope readers can see that they too, can be the main character. That diversity is beautiful and we should embrace it.
Loryn: How would you describe your books in one sentence?
Kamaya: Tales of blood and gore based on mythological legends that always have a special twist as well as colorful characters.
Loryn: What lesson did you learn from writing your books?
Kamaya: I learned how important a detailed outline is. This does not apply to everyone, but the structure keeps me cognizant of details such as a character’s hairstyle or eye color.
Loryn: What is something people would normally not know about you?
Kamaya: I’m obsessed with Winter and Fall-themed food! Pumpkin pastry? I’m eating it. Specialty hot chocolate? I’m drinking it. Vanilla egg nog? I’m already sick from having too many cups.
