I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Carter Ryan to learn five random facts about himself and what lesson the entertainment industry has taught him. Check out my interview with Carter below:
Loryn: How would you sum up 2021 for yourself in one sentence?
Carter: 2021 was an amazing year for my family and me, as we moved and renovated our new house, and we got a home gym which I use a lot.
Loryn: Who is an actor or actress you'd love to work with in the future?
Carter: Ryan Reynolds would be lots of fun to work with; he's hilarious and a great actor. It would be cool to work with him. I could probably learn some comedic timing and such from him, which would be great for comedy auditions.
Loryn: What lesson has your character, Cody, from When Calls the Heart taught you?
Carter: Cody has taught me that there is always hope. Cody and his sister ran away from an orphanage, trying to find somewhere they belonged. When they stumbled upon a small town, they set up camp, and Cody went to find firewood and food. But, instead, he stole what he could for the two of them to survive. Eventually, Cody and his sister found more than they expected and became a family again when Abigail adopted them and had a new town to call home.
Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you so far?
Carter: The entertainment industry has taught me not to give up. The industry can be challenging. There are so many factors that go into booking a role. First, many other people are auditioning for the same job. Second casting can have different ideas of what the character looks like, and you may not fit that look in the end. Ultimately you just have to try your best and know that's it's just a matter of time before the right role comes along.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Carter: I did Tae Kwon Do and Mixed Martial Arts when I was younger.
