I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Tommy Atkins to learn five random facts about himself and the story behind his album Truth Be Told. Check out my interview with Tommy below:
Loryn: Who is a musician you'd love to collaborate with in the future?
Tommy: Shania Twain. I've harmonized with her voice for years and I think we'd sound good together!
Loryn: What is the story behind your album Truth Be Told?
Tommy: The songs on this album are little snapshots of my life. From Track 1 to the end of the album, there's an overarching story about my love life and finding my place in the world.
Loryn: What lesson has the music industry taught you?
Tommy: Beware of one-sided business relationships. I've wasted a lot of time and energy on so-called friends in this business who continuously take and take without giving back. Your knowledge and expertise are valuable, so if someone isn't paying your generosity back to you, then you should be charging them for your services.
Loryn: How has the pandemic changed you?
Tommy: I've finally found balance and happiness. I was always going at a hundred miles an hour before the pandemic. Now, I take time to recharge and actually enjoy my life.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Tommy: I'm a homebody! People expect me to be a bit of a party animal because of my upbeat songs, but I'd much rather be at home in my sweats with my cat on my lap!
