I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Alex Freeman to learn five random facts about herself and the story behind her new single "Oh Baby". Check out my interview with Alex below:
Loryn: How would you describe your music in one sentence?
Alex: A creative expression of my feelings and emotions to a song with a goal to relate to others.
Loryn: What is the story behind your new single "Oh Baby"?
Alex: The story behind my song “Oh Baby” is the feeling you get when you really like somebody. When I like someone- I get this feeling of excitement and butterflies all mixed together. Every time you see them you’re nervous but still at the same time can’t wait to be around them.
Loryn: If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Alex: If I could change one thing about the world it would be, equality. There are so many issues all across the world with not having gender equality, racial equality, and so many other issues, that need to be faced. It’s so sad to think about the disrespect, and the way that we treat others, and how that affects people.
Loryn: How has the pandemic changed you?
Alex: The pandemic has changed me as an artist. During the pandemic, I really worked on my vocals, songwriting, and production. I spent my time working to be better as an artist, and I’m so thankful that I had the time to put in the work and double down on everything creatively.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Alex: Well, most people are very surprised by my age… I’m 14 years old. Most people seem to think that I’m quite a bit older than I am and it’s always very surprising to people haha.
