Learn How To Challenge Yourself with The Deeper Stills

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Deeper Stills learn five random facts about them and the story behind their name. Check out my interview with Deeper Stills below:

Loryn: What is the story behind your band name Deeper Stills?

Deeper Stills : It’s actually a long story which I’m not even sure I’d know how to explain haha. It started as an inside joke between my girlfriend (other half o Deeper Stills) and I.. then one night in Ojai during trivia we had to come up with a team name so we put down “Deeper Stills” and it stuck. We had some acoustic gigs following and for lack of a better name we kept using it.

Loryn: What is a current song that you have on repeat?

Deeper Stills: Currently for me it would have to be Noel Gallagher’s latest single “We’re On Our Way Now”. He’s been an influence of mine for years. For Niki her track on repeat these days would be “Levitating” by Dua Lipa.

Loryn: How has the pandemic change you?

Deeper Stills: The pandemic put a lot of things into perspective for me. I realized how important it is to slow down and appreciate what you have. For years I’ve been rolling from gig to gig building a career and when everything was vaulted all we were left with was the present moment. Thankfully it did give us a lot of time to focus on writing and recording. We both really enjoyed being creative together.

Loryn: What lesson has the music industry taught you?

Deeper Stills: Rely on yourself and don’t ever be too consumed in one thing. Challenge yourself to take on more.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Deeper Stills: When I was growing up I wanted to be a hockey player and play for the Philadelphia Flyers. Somewhere between discovering music and pot everything got derailed.. But at least I have all my teeth.
