I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Isabela Penagos to learn five random facts about herself and what she has learned from being in the entertainment industry. Check out my interview with Isabela Penagos below:
Loryn: What is a goal you hope to accomplish this last quarter of the year?
Isabela: A goal of mine before the year ends is to find an agent or manager that is willing to fight for me. That believes in me and my craft. I think that finding someone to work with takes time, I have been developing my craft and portfolio intensely for the last couple of months to be ready to show the world and create a team. I feel like I have been doing great being able to push myself and grow my image individually, however, now, I am ready to go the next step with the correct agent or manager.
Loryn: What lessons have you learned from entering the entertainment industry?
Isabela: Resilience. It all comes down to resilience. Being able to get back up after every audition that might not have been right for you, is not easy but necessary to continue. I truly believe that it is possible to make it as a working, successful artist if you are the person who is working the longer hours, focusing on creating great relationships and prioritizing this career over anything else. I know I can do it, it just takes working harder than others for that perfect moment.
Loryn: What inspired you to specialize in drama?
Isabela: Ever since I was a little girl, I was overflowing with creativity. I needed an outlet to be able to express myself. Music, dance, and acting was that outlet for me. When I was around 15 years old, I truly decided to make my passion into a career choice, and my parents supported me one hundred percent. My love for the arts and my family inspired me to specialize in acting.
Loryn: What is a talent/hobby you picked up during the pandemic?
Isabela: During the pandemic, I wanted to learn more about the stock market and trading. I started to read books on how it worked and began investing my savings into companies I believe could grow. Not only would I invest my money in things like Index Funds or a ROTH IRA account for long-term investments, but I really found a passion in selling and trading stocks. Additionally, I also continued with my training in guitar. I wanted to improve my skill set and would play an hour a day. This helped me stay creative in a time where creativity and art were needed.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Isabela: Something about myself that surprises people is my love for sports. As mentioned previously, growing up I had A LOT of energy, and next to my love for the arts, I also was devoted to sports. My main sport was fútbol, also known as soccer. Being from Medellin, Colombia, soccer is a religion. I started playing at the age of five, and no matter where I moved if that was when I lived in Lille, France, or Hong Kong, I only kept playing more. Aside from playing soccer competitively against international teams such as China and Australia, I also was involved in basketball, tennis, rugby, swimming, diving, and horseback riding. Needless to say, I am always looking to develop new abilities and continue staying mentally and physically powerful.
