I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Kayla DiVenere to learn five random facts about herself and the story behind her single " Dating Myself". Check out my interview with Kayla below:
Loryn: Who is an emerging artist you'd like to work with?
Kayla: I would love to work with Sadie Jean one day! Her melodies are amazing.
Loryn: How would you describe your music in one word?
Kayla: Relatable.
Loryn: What concert would you love to go to in the future?
Kayla: Any Dominic Fike concert EVER! His music is out of this world.
Loryn: What is the story behind your upcoming single " Date Myself'?
Kayla: I blurted out, “I kinda wanna date myself while ranting to my mom about all the horrible dates I’ve been on. I knew from the moment I said it out loud that it could be turned into an anthem for everyone going through the endless, treacherous dating cycle of constantly being let down. Writing “Date Myself” reminded me of how beautiful it is to spend time by yourself and how important it is to be comfortable owning your self-love and high standards. Being able to hear it back after writing it and to scream it at the top of my lungs has comforted me more than any guy has, and I hope it can comfort people, too, in any way they can relate to it.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Kayla: I have a Pitbull poster hung up on the ceiling above my bed, so I literally wake up to Mr.Worldwide every morning. LOL
