I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Imani Murray to learn five random facts about herself, and what her predictions are for resuming events . Check out my interview with Imani below:
Loryn: What have you've learned about yourself during the pandemic?
Imani: I actually learned two things about myself. For one, I learned that I need to make it a point to go outside throughout the week. Whether it’s just a drive for a few minutes or to sit in the backyard, being outdoors can really help to get my creative juices flowing. The second thing I learned was that I knew how to pivot my brand and business to make the most out of the current times. Pivoting during quarantine is how my YouTube channel came about, where I share social media tips and travel vlogs.
Loryn: Who is a dream client you’d like to bring into your agency ?
Imani: So because I do events and public relations this can be a two-part answer. In regards to event production, a dream client of mine is Diddy. He’s known for his over-the-top extravaganzas, especially his all white affairs and it would be amazing to be able to say that I produced and successfully executed a “Diddy All White Affair.” Now a dream PR client would be someone who is just about to get their big break. Someone who I can add my “je ne sais quoi” to their brand or business and help them grow into a powerhouse.
Loryn: What are your predictions for resuming events post-pandemic?
Imani: I believe intimate events will become more and more popular. People are realizing they don’t necessarily need a large audience to have a successful event. Quality over quantity, right? I also see large scale event producers incorporating “pod-style” seating so groups can still enjoy the event without being fully immersed into a large crowd. Festivals, concerts, sporting events, etc. will definitely look different in the future.
Loryn: Once the pandemic is over, where would you love to travel to?
Imani: Anywhere that has beautiful blue waters, white sand and great food! I love traveling and it’s unfortunate that we don’t have the flexibility to just pick up and go - with no worries.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
Imani: People may be surprised that I played basketball for many years - from elementary school to high school. I was actually the reason the girls basketball team was started at my middle school. We were even undefeated and won a championship!
