Learn How Alexandra Karamitsios Shares A Piece Of Greece Through Food

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Alexandra Karamitsios to learn five random facts about herself, and what's her snack guilty pleasure is. Check out my interview with Alexandra below:

Loryn: What have you've learned about yourself during the pandemic?

Alexandra: I learned that I'm not afraid to take a chance even when others around me tell me its a bad idea. I trusted my gut that my business would be a success and i was right! Even when times were tough, which was especially true in the beginning of opening MELI i kept pushing and tried to improve on things everyday. The first year of opening has completely been a learning process.

Loryn: When the pandemic is over, where is the first place you'd like to travel?

Alexandra: Greece ofcourse!

Loryn: What are your predictions for food trucks in the near future?

Alexandra: I think business owners are realizing that for some concepts a food truck is a great way to test the business and see if it's profitable. There's many benefits to having a food truck such as lower overhead costs and rent - especially now in Miami with such high rents.

Loryn: What is your snack guilty pleasure?

Alexandra: I order my donuts on Uber every other day. I order them to check on the quality but also because i have a big sweet tooth and for me they're delicious!

Loryn: What would people be surprised to learn about you?

Alexandra: Before this my idea was to continue on the path to become an elementary teacher. I also studied education at Boston University. I was teaching at a school in coconut grove before I opened Meli but in the back of my mind I always wanted to have my own business involving food.
