Learn About The Work Of The Future with Tim Salau

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Tim Salau to learn five random facts about himself and his goal for Guide this year. Check out my interview with Tim below:

Loryn: What advice do you have for those hesitant to embrace remote work?

Tim: You know, I believe my biggest advice for those hesitant to embrace remote work is this, it’s important to give your team freedom and space. Remote work should be default for how your company works. In-person offices and spaces aren’t bad, but work from anywhere or remote by default organizations thrive and give their employees more work-life control.

Loryn: What's a goal you hope to accomplish with Guide this year?

Tim: We’re expanding our Guide platform to Public preview in the fall. We want to continue serving customers and engaging them in an intimate and direct way. At Guide, we believe in forming a direct relationship with our customers. My biggest goal for Guide is that we have a successful fall season and go above and beyond for our customers.

Loryn: What lesson did the pandemic teach you?

Tim: The biggest lesson the pandemic taught me is the necessity for psychological safety in the workplace. You need to care for your teammates. You need to create a space that facilitates compassion, care, and respect. No matter how big your organization is. During the pandemic, I learned the importance of creating and fostering an environment rooted in psychological safety.

Loryn: What advice would you give your younger self?

Tim: Advice I would give my younger self is essentially this, you’ve always been brilliant and hard working. Keep up the great work and continue to surround yourself with the right people.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Tim: I believe people would be surprised to learn how quiet I am in person. I really keep to myself and am an ambivert.
