I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview John Nicolesonto learn five random facts about himself and what projects he has in store for 2022. Check out my interview with John below:
Loryn: You have already been able to work with some impressive names so far in your career. Is there anyone you would love to work with someday?
John: I would love to work with Viola Davis. I think that would be a completely amazing experience. I would love to be able to work with Mogan Freeman. Those are the names that come to mind immediately, but there are just so many good actors. I can't name one, there's like a pulse of great actors I would feel blessed to work with.
Loryn: What advice can you give to others in your industry who might need that push to make something, and think outside the box?
John: The first thing, I would say is don't let anyone, anyone I don't care who they are, that person no one in the industry or if that person is considered a name, name director, or manager don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. No one can tell you that. So if anyone does tell you that, then you immediately disregarded it. Because the only person who determines how good you can be, how far you can go, what you can accomplish. The only person who has the ability to determine that is you and GOD. Don't let anyone give you advice other than. Work hard learn as much as you can. Definitely, definitely take acting classes. It's not like something you can do casually, really good actors the ones we admire there trained.
Loryn: What projects do you have in store for 2022?
John: I'm gonna be doing a partnership and working as an advisor with this fantastic company called GO Sleeves. I'm really excited about being able to partner with them and work with them. It's a fantastic product. I think that it's gonna be able to help a lot of people. I'm excited about the opportunity to work with them and help spread the word. The other thing is that I'm in the process of producing my first television pilot. It's crazy to think that a couple of years ago, this was just an idea in my head, and now I'm actually starting to see the pieces come to fruition and have the chance to work with a super experienced executive producer who already has about five or six hit shows under his belt. So far 2022 is looking promising!
Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you?
John: It taught me a couple of lessons. The first one is it's never done until it's done. Even if someone says we're gonna do these deals or whatever until that contract is signed. Hell even after it's been signed. It never really is done, until it's done. The other thing is I learned about auditioning, as soon as you finish the audition as hard as it may seem you forget about it. As soon as do it forget about it, cause the longer you hold on to that thought, or that memory it starts to eat away at you. Because I lot of times the reality is, most time most of the things you audition for is you never get and your never gonna hear about it. Think of an audition like a lottery ticket, just gonna get a statch off.
Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
John: Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies. I'm a foodie. Also, think people might get the impression that I'm a little more Hollywood than I am. The reality is I'm from the hood in New York City and I like nice stuff, but also cool just chilling. Everyday people.
