It's Okay To Not Be Perfect with Amanda Kubota

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview Amanda Kubota to learn five random facts about herself and who is an actor or actress she'd love to work with in the future. Check out my interview with Amanda below:

Loryn: What inspired you to become an actress?

Amanda: I grew up watching a lot of shows/movies on Disney channel and Nickelodeon and I remember seeing those people having fun creating characters in a make believe world. They made it look so real which made it more exciting. When I was around 9 years old, I told my mom that the people on TV look like they were having a blast and she got me enrolled into my first acting class. She told me to try out my first class and if I don’t like it then we can stop. Luckily, I fell in love with acting and knew I wanted to become an actress.

Loryn: If you had a magic wand, what show or movie would you do next?

Amanda: I’m a huge sitcom fan so if there was a chance I could do a show like Friends, I’m all for it! I would also love to be in a Marvel movie. It would be so cool doing stunts and fighting bad guys.

Loryn: Who is an actor or actress you'd like to work with in the future?

Amanda: So many, but my top choice is Meryl Streep. I’d love to work with her someday and see how she gets into character because her performance is so believable and moving. Everything is specific and precise in her work. I just love her.

Loryn: What lesson has the entertainment industry taught you so far?

Amanda: I would say handling rejection. You deal with rejection every day in life and it’s a struggle. Acting helps me to believe in myself and my skills so even if I get rejected, I’ll never give up and keep doing what I love. Also knowing that it’s okay not to be perfect. I’m a perfectionist which can be good and bad in some cases. Acting helps me let go of that part of me and just be me. The imperfections I have is what will help me be more authentic and real.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Amanda: One of them would be that I’m a blue belt in Aikido. I started taking classes in 2016 and it was an enjoyable experience meeting new people and developing new skills. I’d also say that I am a Jane Austen fan. I love Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma. She’s an advocate for Women Empowerment and is a reason why I fell in love with British Literature.
