Butta B-Rocka Gets Transparent About How To Pivot During The Pandemic

I recently had the opportunity to exclusively Butta B-Rocka interview about five random facts about herself, what something he learned about herself during the global pandemic . Plus what's her favorite aspect about being a singer. Check out my interview with Butta B-Rocka below:

Loryn: What have you've learned about yourself during this global pandemic?

Butta B-Rocka : That I'm a tough cookie, touring and singing was my only source of income for years. The Pandemic halted everything overnight. I had to figure out quickly what else I was creative with and put myself out there. My podcast that now has over a million listeners, was birth, and It got picked up by five overseas stations. People can now hear me in Nigeria, South Africa, Canada, Italy, and London and Blaze 1 Radio in the USA; I'm also on IHeart Radio and Pandora (this was all due to the Pandemic). Last, I have other projects that were created due to Covid. I'm starring in a movie, and a TV show and I've written a movie, a children's book and have an animation coming out.

Loryn: Who is a guest you'd love to have on your podcast Transparency Talks Podcast?

Butta B-Rocka : Wow, great question, there are so many. I would love to interview Taraji Henson, Chrisette Michele, Samuel L Jackson, Janelle Monae, and many more. I honestly don't just want someone who made it overnight; that's not reality- I want to feature people who struggled but triumphed over their trials and tribulations. People can resonate better with them. It will show them that if they can do it, so can you.

Loryn: What inspired you to create Defiant Ones Teen Magazine?

Butta B-Rocka: My teenage boys wanted to create something that gave the youth a voice and would be inspiring. They highlight actors, athletes, and artists, and have enjoyed featuring people from Disney, the NFL, American Idol, Nickelodeon, Netflix, Growing Up Hip Hop, and many more. But the thing I'm most proud about is that they talk about what schools don't from a teen and young adult perspective. Subjects like – grades, your GPA, going to college, bullying, sex trafficking, financial literacy, the health, wellness, and mental state of teens, and more. A magazine for teens by teens. The goal is to inspire the youth and let them see others stepping out on faith, going after their goals and dreams – no matter their age.

Loryn: What is your favorite aspect of being a singer?

Butta B-Rocka: Being on stage and touching someone through song. To have someone say this song helped me get through a tough time or just feeling the energy. There is not a better feeling than looking out in the crowd, and everyone is vibing.

Loryn: What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

Butta B-Rocka: I'm very shy. I know that seems strange, but in a big crowd, I'm good. The one on one intimate settings, I'm a bit more nervous and bashful.
